SPOILERS FOR EVERYTHING!
Okay, I have had two major epiphanies in the past 15 minutes.
I've always said there was something to pay attention to in Antipasto with Hannibal and Abel Gideon's scene and the whole 'let it be a fairy tale, Once upon a time...' bit instead of just being pretentiously artsy. Now I get it. It was to set up the stinger with Bedelia.
1) Abel Gideon's limbs were covered in Snails and Hannibal was feeding Gideon not only himself but the oysters and such to fatten up Gideon and to taste better. They even had a conversation about it.
2) This conversation is REPEATED between Hannibal and Anthony Dimmond during the 'is this that kind of party' bit. Remember how Bedelia commented about how her husband is particular about how she tastes? This is a call back to Gideon. Bedelia is to be compared to Gideon and his fate is to be her fate.
3) This means that Gideon and Bedelia are both associated with Snails.
4) When Will goes to the Lecter Estate in Secondo he sees the grounds practically covered with both Snails and Fireflies.
5) Fireflies (the larva) prey upon Snails, rather brutally too. (just google it)
6 When Will makes his Murder Tableau he makes The Firefly Man and it is covered in snails. The parting shot we had of it was it glowing due to the fireflies all around it. Which means Will made it in the shape of a predator insect with its prey (snails) covering it to feed the predators (fireflies). They coexist in a manner of speaking of a continuous prey/predator relationship.
7) We always wondered what the point was to have Will do that and display it like that. Especially, in how no one will ever see it. What was the point? In Digestivo we thought we had figured it had to do with Will testing himself to see if he has the appetite for it or not. Since that is part of Will's rejection speech of how he tolerates but does not delight.
8) Now, I have another answer. It was to associate Will with Fireflies.
9) Will's threat to Bedelia about how Will doesn't intend for Hannibal to be captured a second time, 'this is my becoming' 'meat is back upon the menu' and so forth.
10) Now back to that 'fairy tale' opening. What was the point of that if there wasn't a bookend of the fairy tale in the finale? But what if there was? What is the number one aspect of the ending of a fairy tale story story? 'They lived happily every after.'
11) What would constitute a fairy tale ending for Hannibal since he's the one telling the story? Will. He finally gets Will as his Murder Husband.
12) What was the point of having a song with lyrics playing at the crucial moment of Hannibal and Will teaming up to kill Dolarhyde when the show usually has a form of classical music created by Brian Reitzell playing? The only reason is because the song itself is important for it delivers a message.
13) What is the message? How about the words 'I will survive' playing as Will pushes himself and Hannibal over the bluff that Hannibal earlier stated had rocks removed from the cliff, how the deep the water was, and how the 'bluff was eroding'?
14) The stinger is parallel (with some differences) to the opening scene with Gideon. The opening and closing of the season/story.
15) Both Bedelia and Gideon are associated with Snails. Will is associated with Fireflies. Will is essentially a newborn predator/firefly, i.e. firefly larva. What do firefly larva eat? Snails. Will is about to eat Bedelia which is all Hannibal has ever wanted, Will's Becoming, and finally having his companion. This is Hannibal's happily ever after ending to his fairy tale.
I could probably add a few more things like how Hannibal's valentine (heartstag) and Will's Firefly Man are love letters to each other. And the reason why Hannibal made the valentine out of Dimmond is because of his resemblance to Will and willing to be Hannibal's partner in crime but he wasn't Will.
There is probably more things I can recognize if I go back through and write it up properly but this is my immediate thoughts.

Чего мне точно не хочется, так это, как многие говорят, что Уилл будет с Ганнибалом охотиться на Алану, Джека и прочих. Вот тут будет совсем печаль.

Мне кажется Фуллер не будет так делать. Это совсем какое-то ООС из чьего-то фанфика.
